Building a Grammy Winning Score: Taurees Habib in Conversation

Building a Grammy Winning Score: Taurees Habib in Conversation

About This Event

The Third Mind invites you into conversation with Grammy-winning sound engineer Taurees Habib, whose work has shaped the sound of Hollywood blockbusters including Dune , Dunkirk , Interstellar and more. As Head of Sampling for Hans Zimmer, Taurees works in one of the most fascinating corners of modern cinema: building bespoke instruments, textures and sonic materials that form the foundation of a film score. We’ll get into how a film score is developed and how active listening can change the way we experience film and music. In a world where most of us listen to music while commuting, exercising or working, this conversation will challenge us to see what we miss when music becomes background. We’ll also dive into Taurees’ incredible journey and what it means to become the second Pakistani artist ever to win a Grammy. Our salons are curated to make you part of the conversation. We want you to leave the room inspired, with a chance to connect with like-minded, curious New Yorkers. That is where The Third Mind forms. Programme 6:30 – 7:00 PM: Arrive, grab a drink and get comfortable
