Join us to see how King County Department of Natural Resources Wastewater Treatment Division is beneficially using valuable biosolids to fertilize working forests, build productive soils, and fuel carbon sequestration. Join King County’s Department of Natural Resources and Parks Wastewater Treatment Division for a day in the forests! For nearly five decades, King County has been at the forefront of defining a circular water economy and pioneering sustainable practices in the clean water sector. You will get an overview of King County’s Biosolids Forestry Program and learn more about its history, the research, and the day-to-day operations on the ground. At the end, you’ll walk away with a better understanding of the beneficial use of biosolids and how we can adapt modern municipal needs into climate-conscience initiatives. Tour will begin at the King County Loop Truck Maintenance Facility. You must secure your own transportation to the meeting address. There are limited public transit options to North Bend. A King County staff member will be present to direct your parking.
