Simulating Solutions: The Art & Science Behind the Tabletop Boardgame DAYBREAK

Released in 2023 by CMYK games, DAYBREAK is a cooperative boardgame about stopping climate change. It presents a hopeful vision of the near future, where you get to build the mind-blowing technologies and resilient societies we need to save the planet. Created by famed game designer Matt Leacock - the mind behind such modern classics as PANDEMIC and FORBIDDEN ISLAND - and Matteo Menapace, the two also collaborated with a team of Sustainability Experts to bring accuracy to the technology, science, policies and real-life possibilities to the game - including Ruth Meza, Transportation Planner from the Oakland Department of Transportation.
