Sun, Soil & Sovereignty: An Agrivoltaics Tour with SHEBA Farm

About This Event

Sun, Soil & Sovereignty: An Agrivoltaics Farm Tour with SHEBA Farm offers an interactive look at innovative agriculture that supports people and the environment. Join us for PNW Climate Week at Oregon State University's North Willamette Research and Extension Center to experience the future of resilient land stewardship. Learn about local work being done at the intersections of land-based food systems and environmental justice, whole-systems agriculture, agrivoltaics integration and get an in-person opportunity to check out the new John Deere prototype electric tractor. Participants will better understand how agrivoltaics can be used for reduced utilities costs for producers, reduce reliance on commercial utilities in emergencies and grid-stressor events, using solar generation and batteries to power water pumps, greenhouses, cold storage and wash-pack stations, as well as on-farm housing units. Sponsors: About SHEBA Farm : SHEBA Farm activates 10 acres of underutilized farmland in the Willamette Valley for beginning and underrepresented farmers, building core farm infrastructure
