The Scottish Ride
About This Event
Grab yer kilts and roll north with us into the bonnie glens of central Vancouver for a relaxed, tartan-ful community ride showcasing Vancouver's first proposed "Climate Corridor" - connected networks of streets that integrates high-quality walking, bicycling, and transit infrastructure with expanded tree canopy to create cooler, safer, and more comfortable routes for traveling without a car. We’ll set off from the Cascade Highlands neighborhood in central Vancouver and follow the “Scottish Corridor” of McLaughlin, MacArthur, and McGillivray, winding our way roughly 7 miles through neighborhood streets and bike-friendly routes. Our journey ends at Marshall Park, where we’ll gather for a well-deserved picnic of Cranachan (a traditional Scottish dessert - V and GF options will be available). Wear your plaid, rock a kilt, and bring a unicorn. Feel free to bring your own refreshments or snacks to share, but handle your haggis with care! It does not travel well in July. Meet at 5:30, ride at 6:00 pm.
