Where Communities Take Root: A Conversation with Depave on Climate, Community, and Green Infrastructure
About This Event
Join Knot Studio and Depave during PNW Climate Week for an evening exploring how thoughtful design and community partnerships can transform our streets into healthier, more resilient public spaces. This open studio event will feature an informal conversation about Depave's mission to replace unnecessary pavement with green infrastructure that improves neighborhoods, manages stormwater, expands urban tree canopy, and creates places where people can gather and thrive. We'll also share a behind-the-scenes look at the Future Green Plaza on Sandy , a community-driven streetscape project that reimagines Portland's public right-of-way as a flexible civic space shaped by collaboration, ecological performance, and placemaking. Learn how engagement, temporary street activations, and green infrastructure are helping create a more welcoming and climate-ready future. Enjoy local gelato from Pinolo , meet the project team, tour our studio, and connect with fellow designers, advocates, and community members who are passionate about building a greener Portland.
