AI for Good Walk
About This Event
We're walking the west side of Manhattan at sunset, stopping to hear from people doing real work at the intersection of AI and climate, and using the time in between to actually talk to each other about what we just heard. The format is simple: we walk, we stop three times for a speaker, and in between each stop we mix up who we're walking with. We are focusing on Climate for this month's event. AI has been touted to solve climate change. And in some ways it's delivering: modeling climate systems, helping with conservation of rainforests and species. But it's also helping find new oil reserves, consuming massive amounts of energy and water. Come walk and chat with people in this space. We don't have our three speakers confirmed yet. Nominate someone you think should be heard, or put yourself forward. We're looking for people doing honest, grounded work, not polished pitches. We're doing this outside because AI lives on our computers, and building for people means remembering what it feels like to be one.
