Field Notes 03: FM Tokyo

Field Notes 03 is our third installment of a vinyl listening series led by industry selectors and their approach to record curation. Our selector for this third session is Hao浩然, co-founder of two New York cocktail bars, 929 inspired by Mandopop & Cantopop, and 56709 influenced by Japanese City Pop, who uses music to bridge cultures and introduce audiences to the dancefloor potential of Asian pop music. Using City Pop pioneers like Tatsuro Yamashita and Anri as a starting point, he will explore the broader landscape of Japanese pop music. Expect everything from 80s icons like Akina Nakamori to Japanese R&B trailblazers like DOUBLE, alongside icons such as Hikaru Utada. The listening session will run approximately 45-60 minutes. Hi-Fi system by House Under Magic. Vinyl stocked by Freakout Spot will be available for purchase. Tickets are limited as the program will be intimate.
